Karen Blixen was passionate about cooking and found her inspiration in the French, English, Italian and Danish kitchens. Through historical books, we have found many of her original recipes, and dining at Karen Blixen Camp brings back the days of the early 1920-30s

Alongside these recipes, we offer a wide range of cosmopolitan food with clear notes from the Far East, India, and Africa’s own traditional cooking with a variety of choices for each meal.

Choose from succulent beef or lamb, grilled fish, or lavishly vegetarian dishes made of the very finest locally produced ingredients.

Enjoy our cuisine with a comprehensive selection of the continent’s finest wines. Breakfasts, lunches, and dinners are served in the restaurant or bush garden from where one has an incredibly close view of the Maasai Mara River and the wild animals coming to drink.

Romantic bush Meals Karen Blixen Camp

We arrange bush breakfasts and Bush lunches at carefully selected areas offering guests the most spectacular views of the savannah.

While bush breakfasts are the perfect surprise after an exciting morning game drive we also arrange romantic bush dinners beneath the starlit African sky for those who wish to venture a little further.

Locally sourced organic produce

Our cuisine is in line with modern-day gastronomic trends and integrates top-quality meats and fresh produce which have been carefully sourced from some of the best local ranches and farmers the country has to offer. Most of our day-to-day vegetables and herbs are grown in our own organic garden.
