Welcome to Karen Blixen Museum, a national museum in Kenya situated about 15kilometres from Nairobi City Centre. It was built in 1912, and was home to Danish author Karen Blixen of the book ‘Out of Africa’. This is where Karen Blixen Lived while setting up her coffee farm at the foot of the Ngong Hills.
Out of Africa is a book Karen Blixen wrote about her stay in Kenya and her beloved Coffee farm and was later made into an Oscar-award-winning movie “Out of Africa. based on her autobiography. It shows the struggles she underwent to keep her estate and how her understanding and love grew for the culture and the people around her.

You can pick up a copy of the famous film “Out of Africa” at the museum shop or browse for handicrafts, posters and postcards, books, and other Kenyan souvenirs.
The Karen Blixen museum is open from 08:30 to 17:30 hrs. daily
Located just outside Nairobi National park is one of the pioneering conservation organizations for wildlife and habitat protection in East Africa and the world’s most successful orphan-elephant rescue and rehabilitation Centre – the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
Spend a few hours in the company of young orphan elephants and learn about incredible rescue efforts. These babies have lost their mothers to poaching, death, injuries, getting lost in the wild, or other tragedies. Daphne and her dedicated staff raise them to be released back into the wild when they are ready You may also find yourself adopting one of the herd.

Giraffe Centre
Located less than 30 minutes drive from the city Centre with no traffic is A World Living in Harmony with Nature –The Giraffe Centre. Visit and get to feed the giraffes.
The main objective of the Giraffe Centre is to provide conservation education as well as give local and international visitors an opportunity to come into close contact with the world’s tallest species, the giraffe.
