The Magic of the Green Season & Nursery Wonders
Traveling to the Maasai Mara during the Green (or Mid) Season is one of the best-kept secrets in the safari world. As the rains transform the landscape into a vibrant, emerald paradise, it brings with it lower rates and fewer crowds. Perhaps the greatest luxury of all right now is the sheer sense of space. You can spend hours immersed in the wilderness, enjoying incredible, uninterrupted wildlife encounters.
This time of year is also our “Nursery Season.” The abundance of water and tall grass provides the perfect sanctuary and plenty of food, resulting in a baby boom across the plains. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been treated to heartwarming sightings of playful lion cubs finding their feet in the savannah.
Whether it’s watching a lioness quietly nurse her cubs in the cool grass or seeing newborn foals taking their first steps, the Green Season offers a deeply intimate and peaceful safari experience that stays with you long after you leave.
