Olomelok the Leopard
A Successful Hunt and a Lazy Afternoon Leopards are famously elusive, which makes every clear sighting a reason to celebrate. Recently, our guides were thrilled to spot Olomelok—the handsome male son of our well-known resident leopard, Nape.
As you can see in the photo, Olomelok was perfectly content and incredibly relaxed. We found him just after he had successfully hunted and eaten a marsh mongoose. With a full belly, he found a comfortable spot near the water’s edge to simply lie back, digest, and watch the world go by. It is wonderful to see the next generation of Mara leopards thriving and mastering their hunting skills!
